Jan 25th ,2010 , Imli (Tamarind) Ki Chutney

Hey friends,

I wasn't well at all ,been coughing badly . So i didn't try any elaborate recipe however i made imli ki chutney. Now this chutney can be used on "Allo ka Chaat" or "Dahi Vada" .

So lemme tell you the recipe of this chutney.

Dish: Imli(Tamarind) ki chutney Time:30 mins Serves:8 people Costing:

Ingredients:

Imli(Tamarind): 250 gms(prefer Imli without seeds)
Ginger-a Small pc (approx-15gms)
Sugar- 6 Spoons
Salt-1 Spoon
Vinegar- 1 Spoon
Sodium Benzoate:1 pinch(this is only used when you want to preserve this chutney for 7-8 months)
Garam Masala-1/2 spoon
Pepper powder-1/2 spoon
Roasted Jeera powder:1/2 spoon

Process:

Wash Imli and pressure cook with ginger for 7-8 mins. Wait for 1-2 whistles and turn off the gas. Cool it. Now grind it in mixer and strain it . Now add sugar ,salt and vinegar to the mixture and boil it for 10-15 mins .Keep steering so that it doesn't stick to the pan . Boil it till you get the consistency little thick. Now take out 1 spoon of chutney and add garam masala , pepper powder and roasted jeera powder and mix it well. Finally add the masala mixture to the rest of Imli ki chutney. Boil it for another 3-4 mins and your chutney is ready.

Cool it and keep it in any glass jar or container.

Note: For longer shell life add pinch of sodium benzoate to it at the end .

Relish this with any dish you want to. Enjoy and wish me good luck to get well soon and come back to you with lot many dish.

Sayonara.
